Building a Cyber Secure and Resilient Commonwealth Together

The Week

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts hosted its first Cybersecurity Week from October 15th through October 18th. Held during National Cybersecurity Awareness Month, the goal of Massachusetts Cybersecurity Week highlighted the robust Massachusetts cybersecurity ecosystem that exists in our state. That ecosystem, which includes educational institutions, businesses, R&D centers, policy leaders, investors, and technology groups, makes Massachusetts a national leader and enables the Commonwealth's citizens and economy to thrive in the face of growing threats.

Events and activities will took place across Massachusetts that will brought people together to:

  1. Showcase the talent, innovation, strength and opportunity of our cybersecurity economy.
  2. Foster collaboration between business, vendors, policymakers, and educators to ensure this ecosystem continues to advance and grow.
  3. Educate citizens, business leaders, and investors on key cybersecurity issues and how together we can combat the threat.

Governor Baker signed an official proclamation on behalf of the Commonwealth to formally announce Massachusetts Cybersecurity Week!  Read the official proclamation (PDF) here.

Events

There were many opportunities for cybersecurity stakeholders, educational institutions, and businesses to showcase their capabilities and offerings as part of the Week, and to contribute to the advancement of cybersecurity across Massachusetts.

As part of the Week, the MassCyberCenter helped convene the 2019 Massachusetts Cybersecurity Forum, bringing cybersecurity leaders from around Massachusetts to the State House. The Forum included participants from the state’s world-class cybersecurity companies, thought leaders, research & development centers, universities, and talent.
